The math behind it
Fuel used = distance ÷ 100 × L/100km. Burning 1 L of petrol releases ≈ 2.31 kg of CO₂ (diesel ≈ 2.68).
Worked example
100 km at 7 L/100km → 7 L × 2.31 = 16.2 kg CO₂.
