How the Math Works

The factor 3600 adjusts seconds to hours, while dividing by 1,000,000 converts micromoles to moles, yielding DLI in moles per square meter per day (mol/m²/day). This calculation quantifies the cumulative light energy plants receive daily.
Practical Applications
To apply this formula, first measure PPFD using a quantum sensor at the plant canopy level. Record the duration (in hours) your grow lights are active each day.
